Good news.... the 'Fat Lady' finally stopped singing so we're back on the trail.....
Unfortunately our remaining miles (2300) didn't budge a bit from last year - Darn!!

Returned to Randle Sept 2 to complete the Goat Rocks area -
Great weather, Great views, and Great hiking,
Good to be back on the trail!!

Nice!

Goat Rocks...Some of the best views on the PCT

Mt. Rainier - getting closer to home

Best view in the world!
(After 20 - 25 miles on the trail)

It might be daylight but it's dark enough for me
....zzzzzz.....

The next section, Hwy 410 (Chinook pass) to I-90 (Snoqualmie pass), earned DA a
well deserved rest at the 'Summit Inn' (feet were not quite used to the mileage yet!)
The weather was fine! (better than fine!!)

Unfortunately the next piece - I-90 to Hwy 2 included some crappy weather,
Thunderstorms at night and snow above 5000'
Go figure.... better not be a repeat of last year.

Snow? WTF?

Better not miss that turn...

Couldn't resist... nice shot!.... the sun's back!

This cabin was nice ...too bad it was during the nice weather!

My 'camp fire' - just me and the f#*%#....sleep robbing mice!

That ends the current section ....
Out at Hwy 2 - (Stevens pass)- and a rest break at Skykomish
(A whistle stop 10 miles down from the pass)

I'm pissed ....they made me leave my six-irons in the room!!
They just don't understand Canadian mountain men!!

Next bit will be the Hwy 2 to Hwy 20 - 'Rainy pass'
Should be there Sept 17

70 miles to go after that!!

Coaches Corner:

After a year off we had reverted to our civilian ways!
Time for an 'outdoorsy' tune up...
.....Cabela's.....

If that doesn't get you in the right frame of mind - nothing will!

Our 'Mecca'

The flea market at Packwood.....
Someone has to support the local econmy!

Darrell hit the 'BIG' one, Sept 2,
Positively ancient at 60!

No longer 'fifty something'...!

The decorating committee got carried away!
Maybe a grown up kid, but still a kid.....Let the games begin!!

16 tries and not even close!.....Bad......Realy Bad!!

You can count on friends to get you a flattering card!

Didn't hit the yellow so might as well hit the bottle!

A little 'Om-pa pa' in Leavenworth

These guys were just finishing a cross country (USA) Segway tour
A couple of brothers from Belgium - One with a dissabilty (the segway was his wheelchair!)
First year.... Boston to Omaha / Second year ..... Omaha to Seatle

Darrell rethinks the hiking bit!!
Tempting!!

John and Sandy while Darrell Hikes!
The Good Life!
